The Rolling Stones
10 years ago, The Rolling Stones played to over 1.5 million people on Rio De Janeiro’s Copacabana Beach!!
Perry Scenic, in collaboration with Production Park company Brilliant Stages, built a series of large brightly coloured kite-shaped pieces which were rigged on to a huge stage back wall.
All the set pieces were made so that they were easy to rig and construct on the beach after they had been flown across to Rio. The team worked intensively sewing together multiple pieces of waterproof fabric, with each Kite having to be lined with fibre glass rods to ensure they maintained their shape throughout the performance.
We created the perspective masterpiece that designer Mark Fisher had envisaged!
